What are the different types of Trunks

Trunks that can be created on your Unitel Account

Customers can create 3 different types of Trunks in their UniTel Portal.

Conversational Trunks

Conversational Trunks are the standard trunks used with your UniTel SIP Services. These bidirectional SIP Trunks route inbound calls from DID numbers and authorize outbound calls for termination. Calls to Extended Territories and International destinations are not available through these trunk types.

International Trunks

International Trunks are only available after requesting Extended Territory call routing. To request Extended Territory calling, please Contact our Support team.


Emergency Trunks

Emergency Trunks are used for routing outbound calls to Emergency Services (e911). Please ensure your Trunk is configured to properly Pass Caller ID Number. Invalid Caller ID passed through an emergency call is subject to a $250 Rogue 911 charge. Learn more about configuring 911 services.
